Hey! We should go to...

Pizza 500

Got to be one of the best pizzas I've had, and I would definitely go back.

I went for the Four Seasons pizza which had a TOPPING of artichoke, mushroom, olive and ham. It was really tasty so I greedily ate the whole lot, despite feeling full about two-thirds of the way through,

I just wish I'd left a bit of room for the Tiramisu ... next time.

As we noted before we visited, Pizza 500 looks like it's in someone's garage. There are certainly no frills - but what it lacks in decor, it more than makes up for with the food. This is reflected by the fact that when we walked in at 20:30 on a Wednesday the place was absolutely packed.

I was first introduced to the delights of Pizza 500 by a real life Italian. He said it was a genuine taste of Italy, which is high praise from an Italian, I am told. When Vicki and I visited the evening was so hot it felt like we really were in Italy, fortunately we were given an outside seat.

The pizza is thin and delicious, cooked to perfection and (in Vicki's words) not drowned in cheese. I had a 'Vegetarian' pizza with rocket, grilled aubergines, spinach and courgette. It went down a little too fast!

The whole bill, with a bottle of wine, was only £28.50 which makes this a great place for an end-of-the-month meal.

In summary: The food is fantastic, the price is right, but I would prefer a little more in the way of comfort while I'm eating.
