Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
Published by Random House in 2011.
Ready Player One was a page turner for me and I really enjoyed it, but it is, in my humble opinion, not beautifully written. The prose is functional and gets the exciting story across, but sometimes things just seem to pop up, which can be a bit jarring. If you’re interested in technological determinism, digital or retro culture then you’ll enjoy it. I missed it after I had finished reading, so it definitely hooked me!
